Taking Flight

Monday, May 12th, 2008

I’d been itching to relaunch my other site, xaoscontrol.com (pronounced chaos-control), for a while so I made it happen over the weekend. It’s not really an elaborate site but since I’m trying to freelance myself out for Flash work, it seemed logical that I went with a Flash based system.

I used an older design which originally was going to go to a flier or business card but I liked the simplicity of it. I was going for a landing page structure which felt like it should be simple as well. I had planned to just add a nice after-effects animation in there along with a contact link but I realized that I really needed a portfolio of some sort so I put together a simple photo viewer that resembles Lightbox.

So, in the case, two days of work+ motivation = nice results.

edit: After some feedback, I made some adjustments to the landing page to offer a little more interactivity. Nothing over the top, but at least a response to those who might try to interact with the copy in the center. Thanks, Bob!!
